  1. When we moved to our house 28 years ago, Andy was a toddler. That huge cactus by our front door was only 12 inches tall. One day, as we were walking to the car to take the older kids to school, Andy decided to walk over the cactus so it passed between his legs–but not quite. He had a very traumatic morning as I used tweezers to pull cactus spines out of his crotch.
