ICAD Day 32: Rose Garden

Today’s prompt for World Watercolor Month is flower. I chose as my inspiration this photo from my photo essay about the MCC Rose Garden:


Here’s what I came up with:


Yeah, I know, it looks like what happens when you give a little kid a paintbox. I’m still trying to figure out how to do this. I knew I couldn’t duplicate the photograph; I was just trying to suggest the same kind of lush landscape.

I am participating in the Index-Card-a-Day Challenge and World Watercolor Month. For the rest of July, I intend to paint a little watercolor every day, just big enough to fit on an index card.
