It’s time for Weekend Writing Warriors! Every Sunday, a bunch of writers post 8-10-sentence snippets from their works-in-progress on their blogs. There’s a lot of reading, commenting and great writing. Click on the link to see the full list.
In last week’s snippet, Hillary told the first part of the allegory to Robin. The current excerpt happens about half an hour later, when she tells him something weird that happened on the field trip to the Cloisters:
“When I was in the tapestry room at the Cloisters, I heard the unicorn talking to me—”
“Allie told me.”
“No, that’s not it. I mean, it’s weird, but listen to this: there was a museum docent in the room. He said that if the unicorn was talking to me, it meant I was chosen to save the unicorn. He said only the virgin could tame the unicorn.”
“Okay, that’s weird,” agreed Robin.
“But what do you think it means?”
Robin shrugged. “Beats me.”
I know it’s short (the limit is ten sentences), but what do you think of this small excerpt from Chapter 11? Any suggestions on how I can make it better? Please leave your comments below.
