Wonderful Christmas Quilts to Make

Every December I wish I had a Christmas quilt to put on our bed. Making one is on my never-ending list of Things To Do. Maybe by next year.

Many generous quilt designers post free patterns online. I’ve collected a baker’s dozen of some of the prettiest Christmas quilts on the web. Some are traditional, and some are more modern.

These quilts are from AllPeopleQuilt.com (Sorry, I was unable to copy the photos; you’ll have to click the links to see the beautiful pictures):

Peppermint Candy

The Holly Jolly quilt is the one I’m most tempted to make. I love scrappy quilts, and I have lots of odds and ends of Christmas fabric left over from other projects. I might make four times as many blocks and add some borders so that I can make it queen sized.

  1. I have always wanted a Christmas quilt, but struggled with spending all that time on something that wouldn’t be out that long. I finally decided to make a bed scarf, which was just 5 blocks with sashing. It fulfills my wish, and was just a small project!
