NaPoWriMo2021 Day Fourteen

I’m using the Writer’s Digest prompt: write a poem inspired only by stimulus from where you’re sitting.

From where I sit

I see the chaos of all the little tasks I’ve been avoiding
the papers that need to be filed
the documents that require action
the taxes I’m obliged to pay
the books that ought to be shelved
the boxes of things I haven’t found places for since I
moved them out of their previous location years ago
ugh! I’d rather write a poem

if I turn my head to the right
through the window I see
a glorious blue sky with sun shining
on my blooming trees and flowers
the chirping birds
inviting me outside
oh, what the heck
I’ll write a poem tomorrow
