An writing friend of mine, Sara Fujimura, wrote a wonderful novel, Every Reason We Shouldn’t, about teenagers who aspired to compete in the Olympics for speed skating and figure skating. Reading that book allowed me to live in that world for a while.

Now you’ve done it. This was my childhood dream. Of course growing up in Ft.Worth,TX there wasn’t much ice. Rollar skates just weren’t the same.
