I’m actually combining the Day 7 and Day 8 prompts. That’s Kilroy (by MoonAttic) in the center; kalrav (by Dilip P Patel) on either side. To me it suggests a bird-watching expedition.

Octangling2021 Day 6
Today’s pattern is Torus by YuRu Chen:
Octangling2021 Day 2: Mi2
For Inktober this year, I will mostly be following the prompts for Octangling, a project of the Facebook group Tangle All Around that I belong to. The group is tangling their patterns on a 31-slot template, but since I’m only participating every other day (and writing poems on the odd-numbered days), I’ve chosen to do my tangling on individual tiles. Today’s design is Mi2 by Mimi Lempart:
Inktober Day 30
I am participating in two challenges this month, OctPoWriMo and Inktober. To make it easier on myself, I’m trying to write a new poem on odd-numbered days and make a drawing on even-numbered days.
I’m following the Inktober prompts that my Facebook Zentangle group, Tangle All Around, is using. The pattern below is called Fish Face.
This was my favorite pattern of all the ones I tried this month–eleven, instead of my goal of fifteen. (I had one day where I tried and tried, but the pattern was harder than I expected, and I just didn’t like my results. Then there were three days that I just couldn’t get around to it. . . but on the other hand, I might not have made any drawings at all if it weren’t for the challenge, so, thank you, Inktober!)
Inktober Day 26
I am participating in two challenges this month, OctPoWriMo and Inktober. To make it easier on myself, I’m trying to write a new poem on odd-numbered days and make a drawing on even-numbered days.
I’m following the Inktober prompts that my Facebook Zentangle group, Tangle All Around, is using. The pattern below, Your Call, was designed by Alice Hendon.
Inktober Day 24
I am participating in two challenges this month, OctPoWriMo and Inktober. To make it easier on myself, I’m trying to write a new poem on odd-numbered days and make a drawing on even-numbered days.
I’m following the Inktober prompts that my Facebook Zentangle group, Tangle All Around, is using. The pattern below, Yale, was designed by Margaret Bremner.
Inktober Day 22
I am participating in two challenges this month, OctPoWriMo and Inktober. To make it easier on myself, I’m trying to write a new poem on odd-numbered days and make a drawing on even-numbered days.
I’m following the Inktober prompts that my Facebook Zentangle group, Tangle All Around, is using, but I didn’t care for today’s, so I’m using yesterday’s. Perlz was designed by Maria V. Copetas:
To me, each two-pearl unit looks like a smiling mother and child.
I found this pattern surprisingly challenging, and I’m not satisfied with how it turned out. My lower pearls are tear-shaped instead of round, and I could not figure out how to improve that. I guess you just have to put in the practice–draw 10,000 of them, and they begin to look good.
I really appreciate these challenges. They motivate me to try something new.
Inktober Day 19
I am participating in two challenges this month, OctPoWriMo and Inktober. To make it easier on myself, I’m trying to write a new poem on odd-numbered days and make a drawing on even-numbered days.
My poetry brain is not working today, so I opted to work on Zentangle instead. I’m following the Inktober prompts that my Facebook Zentangle group, Tangle All Around, is using. This is Singapore Sling:
This is my first time making this pattern. The hardest part of the design is drawing the flower outline. I couldn’t make it symmetrical. I love the way the center of this design turns out. (But don’t look too closely, ’cause I made a mistake.)
Inktober Day 18
I am participating in two challenges this month, OctPoWriMo and Inktober. To make it easier on myself, I’m trying to write a new poem on odd-numbered days and make a drawing on even-numbered days.
Since I miss doing Zentangle, I decided to follow the Inktober prompts that my Facebook Zentangle group, Tangle All Around, is using. Today’s design is called box spiral; it was created by Margaret Bremner:
Inktober Day 12
I am participating in two challenges this month, OctPoWriMo and Inktober. To make it easier on myself, I’m trying to write a new poem on odd-numbered days and make a drawing on even-numbered days.
Since I miss doing Zentangle, I decided to follow the Inktober prompts that my Facebook Zentangle group, Tangle All Around, is using. The upper design is called Dragon Fly by Sandra Strait.
The lower pattern is a more traditional Dragonflies that I am creating myself. I need to think of a lacy design for the wings, and maybe some stripes for the body.
