Thursday Doors

Standard

Last Saturday I visited St. Anthony’s Greek Orthodox Monastery in Florence, Arizona. I’ll be posting more photos in the next ten days, but I’m thrilled to have several nice doors to post for the challenge this week.

The first is the fairly simple door to St. George’s Chapel.

This is what it looks like from the inside. How lovely the stained glass looks with the sun shining through. Notice there are two more doorways, with split doors open. fullsizeoutput_e51

This is what the innermost doors look like.

Here is a closer photo of the sparkling mosaic over the door. Note also the dimensional brickwork surrounding the door.

Check out Norm’s doors here, and in the comments on his post are links to other participants in this week’s challenge.

I’m participating in Norm 2.0’s Thursday Doors photo challenge today. We will soon be replacing the side door to our garage. Everything that faces south in Arizona gets sunburned.
