ICAD2022 Day 35; World Watercolor Month Day 5

Standard

Today’s ICAD prompt is yellow. Oh, goody, I thought, my house is yellow; I’ll paint my house.

Actually, our house is a buttery cream. The first yellow I mixed was too vibrant, so I tried to tone it down with a little beige. Then it was too dark. I tried adding white to it, but now it looks like a mustard stain. Oh well.

Yellow house

It’s hard to take a good picture of our house because there are a lot of trees in the way. But here it is at an angle. You can’t see much of the architecture, but you can get an idea of the actual color.

ICAD Day 42: No Escaping the Flaming Orb

ICAD Day 42: No Escaping the Flaming Orb

I know I didn’t post an index card yesterday–I just wanted to spend my time writing.

What I didn’t realize was that I didn’t post one on Sunday, either. Just forgot. Oh, well.

Today’s watercolor is a response to ICAD prompt yellow and theme circles, spheres, and mandalas. The title refers to July in Arizona.

I am participating in the Index-Card-a-Day Challenge and World Watercolor Month. For the rest of July, I intend to paint a little watercolor every day, just big enough to fit on an index card. Search for the hashtags #icad2016 and #WorldWatercolorMonth on social media if you would like so see what other participants are doing.
